Welcome to North Kern - South Tulare Hospital District!
The North Kern - South Tulare Hospital District was formed in December 1966 and operates under the rules and regulations of the Health and Safety Code, Sections §32000-§32492 as a government non-profit public entity.
The District was originally formed to provide healthcare services to the communities of Delano, McFarland, and Earlimart and encompassed approximately 420,000 acres among 2 counties. In 1991, the District opened a 99-bed skilled nursing facility, Delano District Skilled Nursing Facility. As the population within the district boundaries grew, there was an increased need for nursing care services to the aging senior population. As a result of this growth and demand, the skilled nursing facility expanded by 42 beds in 2001, bringing the total number of beds to accommodate a maximum of 141 residents.
The District is governed by a 5-member Board of Directors. Each board member is elected during the general elections and serve staggered 4-year terms. The Board of Directors and Executive Staff meet on the 4th Thursday of each month at 1509 Tokay Ave. Delano, CA 93215 in the facility's Conference Room.
The general public is invited and welcome to attend monthly board meetings. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, if you need special assistance to attend or participate in a meeting, please contact the District's Administrative Assistant at 661-720-2101. Notification of at least 48 hours prior to the meeting will enable the District to make reasonable accommodations.
